Wonderful Walliams 08.05.2026

Date: 7th May 2026 @ 10:19pm

Another fantastic week has flown by in Walliams Class and the children have been busy with lots of exciting learning across the curriculum!

In PSHE, we explored the importance of money and why budgeting is such a valuable life skill. The children worked incredibly hard to think carefully about spending and saving and they especially enjoyed planning budgets for a picnic and a family day out. It was wonderful to see them making thoughtful choices and discussing what is important when managing money responsibly.

In Art, we continued developing our beautiful batik pieces linked to our whole-school topic, Connection to Nature. The children completed their final designs before using glue to create a wax resist effect on fabric. They showed great creativity and patience throughout the process. Once the glue has dried, they will be able to complete their artwork by dyeing the fabric and we cannot wait to see the finished results!

In History, the children continued their learning about the Benin Kingdom. Today, they explored how historians learn about historical periods without primary written sources by looking at the importance of storytelling and oral traditions. The class  compared two different recounts about the Benin Kingdom, identifying similarities and differences between the stories. The children showed great interpreting skills and had thoughtful discussions about how different accounts can help us learn about the past.

Have a wonderful weekend!
