Week 3

What a fantastic third week have had in year 3!

This week, we have been exploring the traditional tale The Elves and the Shoemaker.  We used drama and pictures to help us retell the story, brining the characters and events to life.  These activities helped to inspire our creative writing, where we have been focusing on using captial letters, full stops and adjectives to make our writing clear and interesting. 

During our afternoons, we have continued to get to know one another and establish our classroom routines and expectations.  We have been talking about the importance of positive behaviour, kindness and respect and what these look like in the classroom.  The children worked together to create some wonderful posters, which we will proudly display around the classroom as reminders of how we can make our classroom a happy and respectful place for everyone. 

We have been blown away by the incredible House Homework recieved this week.  Well done to everyone for fantastic creativity and research about their house scientists. 

Maths homework has been set this week and has been sent home on a sheet.  Please encourage your child to complete it carefully and return it by Thursday.
