Tolkien Class Update 11/9/26
Date: 11th Sep 2026 @ 8:20am
We have had a fantastic first full week in Tolkien Class. It has been lovely to see the children settle back into routines and throw themselves into a busy week of learning.
In English, we have made a start on our Harry Potter topic. The children have already written character descriptions and setting descriptions, and we have also begun writing diary entries as Harry Potter. There has been lots of thoughtful writing and creative ideas throughout the week.
In our first Anglo Saxon topic, we used chronology to help us understand events in order. The children showed great focus when working with timelines and sequencing.
In Art, we enjoyed practising our 3D drawing skills while focusing on perspective. The children worked carefully and showed real concentration as they developed their ideas.
We also listened to and voted for our School Councillors, ECO Warriors and Digital Leaders. Well done to all children that were voted by their peers. The children also got together with the rest of the children in their house across the school to vote for their house representatives for this academic year.
A special mention to Afraz, who is our first Pupil of the Week for this year.
Have a great weekend.
Mr Curtis
