Rowling Class Update 15/5/26
Date: 15th May 2026 @ 1:58pm
What another fantastic week we have had in Rowling Class! The children have continued to work incredibly hard across all subjects and should be very proud of their efforts and enthusiasm throughout the week.
In History, we officially finished our topic on the Victorians. We ended the unit by exploring the impact that the Victorian era had on our local area and discussing how many Victorian influences can still be seen today. The children were fascinated to compare crime and punishments from Victorian times with those used in modern day society, carefully considering the similarities and differences between the two periods. They contributed thoughtful ideas and showed an excellent understanding of how society has changed over time.
In Science, we continued our learning within our Animals Including Humans topic. The children remained curious and engaged during discussions and investigations, building upon their understanding from previous lessons and asking some excellent scientific questions.
We also enjoyed two brilliant PE lessons this week with Mr Smith and Mrs Gregory. The children focused on two different styles of rounders games, developing their teamwork, communication and striking and fielding skills. It was fantastic to see such positive attitudes, determination and encouragement shown throughout the sessions.
We are all looking forward to the final week of the half term and, of course, the school inflatable day next week — a very exciting way to end the first half of the summer term!
Have a great weekend everyone!
Mr Curtis
