What another brilliant week we have had! The children have been busy learning, creating and exploring a range of exciting topics.
On Monday, we celebrated European Day of Languages. During the afternoon, we explored the many different languages spoken across our city, including the languages spoken by children within our own class. The children then created their own posters to celebrate the day. The winning poster, chosen by a class vote, will now be submitted to the European Day of Languages competition. We are very proud of all of the fantastic designs!
In PSHE, we continued our My Healthy Self unit by reflecting on how active we are. We explored different types of exercise that the children enjoy and discussed activities they would like to try. It was lovely to hear the children sharing their interests and thinking about how they can stay active and healthy.
In Computing, we explored the positive and negative aspects of online communication. We discussed how emojis, memes and GIFs can sometimes be misunderstood or misinterpreted, and thought carefully about how our messages might be received by others when communicating online.
In History, we continued our Anglo-Saxon unit. We explored what artefacts can teach us about the Anglo-Saxons and used these clues to discover more about how they lived. We also compared their way of life with that of the Romans, identifying some of the similarities and differences between the two periods.
This afternoon, we also began practising for our Harvest Festival. The children are already very excited and have already been working hard! We cannot wait to share their performance with you in a few weeks.
Well done everyone for another fantastic week of learning!
We hope you all have a lovely weekend.
