Remarkable Rundell 11.09.2026

What a brilliant second week we have had in Rundell Class! The children have continued to settle into their routines brilliantly and have shown fantastic enthusiasm, curiosity and determination across all of their learning.

In Science, we continued our exciting topic on Forces, focusing this week on the force of gravity. The children explored what makes a scientific investigation a fair test, thinking carefully about which variables should be changed, measured and kept the same. They then put their investigative skills to the test!

The children selected a range of objects and investigated their mass in grams and weight in Newtons before measuring how quickly each object fell to the floor. They made predictions, carried out repeated tests and recorded their results carefully. Through their investigation, they discovered that heavier objects do not necessarily fall faster than lighter objects, helping them to understand that gravity acts on objects and that air resistance can also affect how quickly an object falls. It was fantastic to see the children working like real scientists, discussing their results and thinking about what their findings meant.

We also started our new History topic: The Anglo-Saxons. The children were fascinated to discover where the Anglo-Saxons originated from and why they came to Britain. We began to explore this fascinating period of British history and developed our chronology skills by putting important events from the Anglo-Saxon period into the correct order. The children worked collaboratively, discussing dates and events and explaining their reasoning.

It has been another fantastic week of learning and we have been incredibly impressed with the children's curiosity, teamwork and willingness to challenge themselves. Well done, Rundell Class — you have made an excellent start to the year! We can't wait to see what we discover next week!
