Delightful Dahl 17.04.26

What a brilliant start to the summer term! Dahl class were very happy to be back together again and ready for an exciting new term of learning. The children have returned with fantastic attitudes and enthusiasm, and we are already diving into some brilliant new topics across the curriculum.

In Science, we have begun our unit on Animals Including Humans. This week, we explored the digestive system and learned about the important journey food takes through our bodies. The class loved discovering the roles of different organs such as the mouth, oesophagus, stomach and intestines—and there were some great discussions (and a few funny reactions) along the way!

In History, we have started learning about the fascinating Benin Kingdom. We began by looking at a timeline of the different periods of the Benin Empire and discussing how it changed and developed over time. The children showed great curiosity and asked thoughtful questions as they started to build their understanding of this important civilisation.

In Art, our focus is on textiles, and we kicked things off by creating our own inspiration boards. We explored patterns, colours and designs inspired by famous designers such as Cath Kidston, William Morris and Laura Ashley. The children produced some beautiful and creative boards, full of ideas that we will develop further in upcoming lessons.

It has been a fantastic start to the term, and we are so proud of how well the children have settled back into school life. I look forward to seeing their learning grow even more over the coming weeks!
