What a Wonderful First Three Days in Cowell Class!

What an amazing first three days it has been for Cowell Class! 

Our new Junior School journey is well and truly underway, and I couldn’t be prouder of how brilliantly the children have settled in. They have adapted so well to our new routines and have arrived at school each morning with the biggest smiles on their faces - it has been such a joy to welcome them into the classroom each day.

We have already been very busy getting to know one another and becoming a team. The children have organised their class jobs and are already showing great responsibility and enthusiasm for helping to look after our classroom and our school community.

We have also spent some time thinking about our school value of kindness. The children shared their ideas about what it means to be a kind member of our community and then used their wonderful ideas to create acrostic poems all about kindness. It was lovely to hear so many thoughtful suggestions about how we can make others feel happy, included and welcome.

This week also brought our first PE lesson! The children had lots of fun practising their throwing and catching skills, showing great enthusiasm and teamwork along the way. There were lots of smiles, plenty of laughter and some fantastic attempts!

But my favourite moment of all, had to be seeing so many new friendships beginning to blossom. The children have been brilliant at making one another feel welcome, including others in their games and getting to know their new classmates. It has been wonderful to watch our Cowell Class community start to grow.

And, of course, we have had lots of fun along the way! Our first three days have been filled with smiles, laughter, new experiences and lots of exciting moments.

I can finally say that I have learnt all of their names and can now put names to all of those lovely new faces!

I am so excited to see what next week brings. We will be starting all of our afternoon lessons and will finally be able to dive into lots of exciting learning together. I can’t wait to see what this fantastic class gets up to next!

Well done, Cowell Class - you have had the most wonderful first three days in the Junior School. I am so proud of you all!
