A Wonderful Week in Cowell Class
We have had a lovely week in Cowell Class, filled with curiosity, hard work and kindness. It has been wonderful to see the children supporting one another and showing such enthusiasm for their learning.
In English, we finished writing our own twisted tales based on The True Story of the Three Little Pigs. The children thoroughly enjoyed putting their own creative spin on the classic story and worked hard to include exciting vocabulary, interesting characters and imaginative plot twists in their writing.
In Maths, we have been comparing and ordering numbers up to 1,000. The children have been developing their understanding of place value and using their knowledge to explain how they know which numbers are greater, smaller or equal.
Our Science lessons focused on the properties of rocks. We investigated whether different rocks were permeable or impermeable by carefully using pipettes to drop water onto them and observing what happened. We also tested how durable the rocks were by using sandpaper to see how easily they could be worn away. The children showed excellent investigative skills and enjoyed making predictions before carrying out their tests.
A huge well done to our Pupil of the Week, Orisa. Since joining us in September, she has made fantastic progress and continues to impress us with her determination, positive attitude and enthusiasm for learning. We are all very proud of her achievements.
Thank you for another wonderful week. We hope you all have a relaxing and enjoyable weekend, and we look forward to seeing everyone back in school next week! 😊
