Celebrating European Day of Languages 2025

This week, Miss Leader led a special assembly to mark European Day of Languages. The theme this year – “Languages open hearts and minds” – highlights how languages connect people across cultures, build understanding, and allow us to see the world from different perspectives.

One afternoon this week, the whole school will take part in an exciting activity to bring this theme to life. Every pupil will create their own poster to illustrate the idea of how languages unite us and enrich our lives. Each class will be choosing one poster to be sent to the European Council, with the possibility of being featured on the official European Day of Languages website.

There’s even more to look forward to: the top 5 most creative posters will win special prizes, and up to 30 posters from our school will be proudly displayed at the European Centre for Modern Languages. What an amazing opportunity for our talented pupils to have their work shared on an international stage!

We can’t wait to see the creativity and imagination shine through in all of the posters.
