We’ve had another truly fantastic week in class, full of curiosity, creativity, and hands-on learning! It’s always amazing to see how engaged the children are and how excited they get when exploring new topics.

On Monday, we delved deeper into our history unit on Ancient Greece. The children were challenged to use their research skills to discover interesting facts about a Greek god or goddess of. Some explored mighty Zeus, others the wise Athena and even mysterious Hades! Once everyone had gathered their information, they shared it with the class, explaining the powers, stories, and significance of their chosen deity. It was brilliant to hear their thoughtful presentations and to see how much knowledge they had absorbed. The lesson really showed how history can come alive when we take the time to explore and share stories from the past.

On Wednesday, our focus shifted to art, and the classroom was buzzing with creativity. The children continued their watercolour unit, experimenting with a variety of techniques to create different textures and effects. They explored techniques such as wet-on-wet painting, dry brush methods and even using rice to create different affects!

On Friday, we stepped into the world of science once again. Our lesson focused on evaporation and condensation and the fascinating ways water can change state—from solid to liquid to gas and back again. After brilliant discussions as a class, the children set up a hands-on experiment to explore how temperature affects the rate of evaporation. Cups of water were placed in different locations around the classroom, and over the coming days, the children will carefully observe and record how the water levels change. It was wonderful to see their excitement as scientists, making predictions and thinking carefully about how to test their ideas.

It’s been a week full of learning, creativity, and curiosity. From exploring ancient myths to creating beautiful art and conducting real experiments, the children have shown enthusiasm, focus, and a love of learning that makes our classroom such a special place. We can’t wait to see what discoveries next week will bring!

Have a wonderful weekend!
