Public Speaking Workshop
Date: 4th Dec 2025 @ 4:34pm
Last week, the children participated in their first public speaking session which enabled them to develop their communication skills. During the session, the children explored several key techniques that contribute to effective public speaking. These included the use of purposeful gestures, maintaining appropriate eye contact with the audience and speaking with clarity and confidence.
The children engaged in a range of activities designed to help them practise these skills in a supportive environment. It was encouraging to observe them experimenting with expressive movements, focusing on steady eye contact, and working on projecting their voices clearly.
Some children also volunteered to come up onto the stage to demonstrate what they had learned. Their willingness to present in front of their peers showed commendable confidence and enthusiasm.
Later this year, some of the children will also have the exciting opportunity to take part in the Mighty Oak Public Speaking Competition at Anglia Ruskin University. This event will allow pupils to showcase their developing skills while competing against children from other schools.
We were delighted with the effort and progress shown by all the children and look forward to further developing their public speaking abilities in the weeks to come.
