Another Wonderful Week in Walliams Class! The children have been fully immersed in learning and it's been a joy to see their enthusiasm shine.
On Wednesday, our geography lesson took us on a journey back in time as we explored the fascinating city of Baghdad. The children were captivated to learn why Baghdad was once the first city in the world to reach 1 million inhabitants, discovering its importance as a hub of trade, learning and culture in the Islamic Golden Age.
Thursday was an exciting day full of new beginnings. During transition morning, the children met their new teacher for next year—Miss Shepherd —and had a lovely time getting to know her and preparing for the next step in their learning journey.
In the afternoon, we got hands-on in science, investigating the amazing role muscles play in helping our bodies move. The children enjoyed discovering how muscles work in pairs and how vital they are for everyday actions we often take for granted.
To round off the day, we held our Exhibition Evening, where the children proudly showcased all their hard work from our whole school topic: Oceania. It was wonderful to welcome families into the classroom and celebrate the creativity, curiosity and effort that went into every piece of work.
On Friday, we turned our attention back to geography, this time a little closer to home. The children explored Cambridge and were amazed to discover that it’s currently the fastest-growing city in the UK, driven by innovation, technology and world-class research.
A big well done to all the children for their fantastic attitude and engagement this week—it’s been a busy one, but full of memorable moments!
Have a lovely weekend!
