Tolkien Class Update 9/5/25

Date: 9th May 2025 @ 1:57pm

It’s great to be back and see the children after an extended Easter break. The enthusiasm and energy in Tolkien Class has been brilliant, and it’s heartening to witness the great effort from all children across every subject.

In Maths this week, we have been exploring 3D shapes and coordinates. The pupils showed remarkable curiosity and engagement, bringing their own examples and questions to the discussion, which made the learning experience even more dynamic.

In English, we began our new unit of work based on Avatar. The children have been crafting setting descriptions and persuasive adverts, focusing specifically on Pandora, harnessing their creativity and honing their writing skills. It is fantastic to observe their imagination at play, along with the constructive feedback and peer support they provide for one another.

We are also making excellent progress with our Victorians topic. The children’s enthusiasm is contagious as they dive into the lives and times of this fascinating era. We are really looking forward to our school trip, which is just over a week away. It promises to be an enriching experience that will bring our studies to life and give the children further knowledge of what Victorian life would have been like.

Lastly, our science topic, Animals Including Humans, has sparked some great discussions and questions among the children. Their curiosity shines through, and it’s a joy to see them so engaged in their learning.

Overall, it has been a wonderful week, and I am excited for what lies ahead!

Have a great weekend everyone.
