Tolkien Class Update 21/3/25

Date: 21st Mar 2025 @ 4:07pm

It was assessment week in Tolkien Class this week and I have been blown away by the determination, perserverance and resilience shown by all of the children. They have been tested in reading, writing, spelling, punctuation, grammar and maths. They should all be proud of their outcomes and scores which I'm sure they have been telling you all about on a daily basis.

In the afternoons, we have continued working on our foundation curriculum as normal. We learned all about the water cycle in geography and focused on the importance that rivers play in the cycle. The children showed great knowledge and understanding throughout the lesson and I was particularly impressed with some of their diagrams at the end of the lesson. In Science, we moved on to the reproduction of plants and learned about the different ways that this occurs. It was great to see their scientific questions to find out more about the topic.

We finished the week by completing the first two rounds of the Perryfields Maths Bee. All children particiapted in the house event and worked against each other to earn the right to represent their house in the final round in front of the whole school at the end of term. In addition to this, we spoke about aspirations for the future and created guides for finding jobs and careers.

Just two weeks left of the Spring Term. Where have the last few weeks gone?

Have a great weekend everyone!
