Energy Seekers

Date: 15th May 2025 @ 8:22am

Yesterday, in science, Lewis class learned about the digestive process and how at different stages of this process nutrients and minerals are taken from food to be used by our bodies. It was comical watching the group complete a mini experiment on the role of saliva beginning to break down the food; keeping a piece of bread in their mouth for 3 minutes without swallowing wasn't popular! However, the class were fascinated exploring a range of food labels to investigate how much energy the food we eat has and how it links to which nutrients. Most of the children believed that Pepsi Max would provide the most energy, but it was the contrary, it gave the least. If you start to spot someone eyeing up food labels a bit more often, this might be why!

Enjoy the rest of your week,
