Through this provision there has been a continuous improvement in the levels of attendance and engagement with school, attainment and achievement for all pupils.

  • To close the gap in attainment and progress for Key Stage 2 pupils in all areas of the curriculum
  • Maintain the quality of teaching and learning across the school (100% good or better)
  • Ensure pupils benefit from  a variety of catch up and extension activities including the basic skills
  • To provide additional 1:1 tutoring in reading, writing and maths by fully qualified teachers
  • To provide emotional and behavioural support to children and their families
  • To ensure all pupils have equal opportunity to improve their foundational learning  skills
  • To ensure all pupils have equal access to the enrichment elements of the curriculum
  • To facilitate pupils’ participation in homework activities
  • To improve attendance of pupils
  • All pupils have access to learning mentor time to build positive relationships and encourage a growth mind set

  • Commitment to our partner schools to ensure the School meets the core offer for Extended Schools’ provision
  • Funding for a school counsellor/home school liaison worker
  • Speech and Language (S & L)provision through trained staff, plus provision of the accommodation of Communications Assistants for Springfield area
  • Release of Deputy Headteacher to support class teachers in improving the quality of
  • teaching and learning through team planning and team teaching
  • Focussed One to One support
  • Small support groups led by class teachers and learning support assistants
  • Learning Support Assistants –at least 1 in each class all day
  • Extra learning support assistant in Year 6 two days per week to support groups
  • Learning Mentor
  • Educational Psychologist Provision
  • Range of free clubs run by class teachers and learning support assistants
  • Enrichment of the Curriculum through themed days
  • Subsidies on visits/trips/swimming/paid clubs
  • Additional SENCO hours
  • Staff Training /CPD
  • Bug Club Reading and Phonics
  • Peer reading groups-Chatter books and Reading Gladiators
  • Release of literacy leader to lead small group reading and writing groups
  • ICT resourcing, including tablets to support the development of reading
